Responsibilities

Shawmut Design and Construction is looking for a Risk Manager. Do you have experience driving key priorities for risk management? Are you motivated when working on a team to solve business challenges? In this position you will partner nationally with business leadership to identify, mitigate, lead, communicate and drive accountability for the risks taken in our business.

  • Actively participate with the leadership and development of the strategic plan for risk management
  • Provide decision-making weighing the consequences and risks around areas involving claims, financial issues, carrier issues, compliance, legal issues and sub performance
  • Manage multi-line claims including SDI, GL, WC, Auto and Builders Risk claims and losses
  • Identify, build and lead training initiatives while providing guidance and mentoring to the organization around specific risk management issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience required
• 10+ years’ experience managing claims and risk management exposure in a risky industry, preferably Construction
• Strong working knowledge of risk and claims management best practices.
• Solid insurance and liability knowledge required. Underwriting experience a plus!
