We are looking for college students (rising Juniors and Seniors) seeking internships for the summer of 2025. 

 

The internship will start in early to mid-June and will last up to 8 weeks or more depending on your availability.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the AP team to ensure daily tasks are complete
  • Learn the systems and imaging software used including CMiC and Kofax
  • Learn about the different work-flows in the AP department
  • Get an understanding of the different check runs and payment types at Shawmut
  • Interact with other departments such as Group Finance to ensure projects are running smoothly and vendors are paid timely when properly compliant
  • Support our internal clients on Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense related inquiries
  • Assist our T&E program by auditing expense reports
  • Assist with the month-end close process
  • Assist Corporate Accounting, Payroll and Tax & Licensing teams as needed
  • Transition between departments to understand how we interact and work together
  • Assist with setup and roll forward of files to support month-end reporting and budget process
  • Pull back up from ERP system for review of monthly operating expenses

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated client focus and ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization 
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong excel skills
