We are looking for a Safety Officer to join our team.  Are you passionate about ensuring a safe work environment for the entire project team? To help the team think pro-actively so that we can provide a safe place to work?  Are you committed to working hand-in-hand with our project supers and project managers to enforce our company policy as well as the OSHA safety regulations and policies?

Responsibilities

  • Provide structure around site safety with superintendent and subcontractors
  • Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk
  • Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project team
  • Assist subcontractors with site safety needs via tool box talks, safety check lists, job hazard analysis, etc.
  • Communicate directly with subcontractors to discuss concerns and Shawmut's expectations
  • Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively
  • Develop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clients
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related experience preferred
  • Work requires frequent travel
  • Prior safety or construction related internship a plus as well as working on a CCIP project
