Responsibilities

  • Provide structure around site safety with superintendent and subcontractors

  • Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk

  • Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project team

  • Assist subcontractors with site safety needs via tool box talks, safety check lists, job hazard analysis, etc.

  • Communicate directly with subcontractors to discuss concerns and Shawmut's expectations

  • Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively

  • Develop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clients

  • Conduct new hire safety orientations

  • Uphold Shawmut Values and 16 Best Practices

Qualifications

 

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related experience preferred
  • Work requires frequent travel
  • Prior safety or construction-related internship a plus
