Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Project Manager – Special Projects to join our team in New York. The purpose of this role is to consistently deliver construction and post-construction services (warranty, closeout, and special projects) which meet or exceed Shawmut’s goals by thorough trainings, properly managing the processes, the relationships with clients, subcontractors, and Shawmut staff.  Responsibilities include:

  • Act as a technical and managing resource for on-site warranty events, coordinating with appropriate field organization or groups on an as required basis ensuring warranty events meet established standards both in timeliness and quality.
  • Utilizes facts and resources to approve processing of warranty claims within delegation of authority. Escalates high dollar and exceptional claims through the appropriate process.
  • Tracks and reports costs for corrective work to appropriate personnel to ensure costs are catalogued for reimbursement where appropriate.
  • Provides hands-on support, interpretation of warranty policy, guidance on pricing and warranty claim processing, system expertise, and ad-hoc training daily for project teams and business lines to enable sales of additional extended warranties
  • Respond to emergencies immediately ensuring scheduled plans are clearly communicated and followed-up with both internal and external clients.
  • Oversee and manage special projects ranging from $50K to $1M+ for core clients referred to as “Special Projects”
  • Work with project team to obtain understanding of project prior to Close-out by attending meetings to gain project knowledge including inspections, punch list, commissioning, O&M training and overall client needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with clients, owners, subs, and Shawmut staff

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years’ experience in construction industry, building/facilities operations.
  • Proven ability to manage elements of the project management construction cycle profitably and with strong client outcomes.
  • Prior experience in a service-related role with direct client contact.
  • Construction related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in/with construction trades a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Procore, CMiC, MS Office Suites or other project management software a plus

Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $110,000 to $150,000. The range stated is specific to Los Angeles.  Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles) and internal company equity.
