Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Provide senior leadership across all phases of large, complex mission‑critical projects, ensuring alignment with business and field operations standards.
  • Lead multidisciplinary field teams with clear communication and consistent direction.
  • Support talent development, retention, and performance of field staff.

Mission Critical Execution

  • Lead fast‑track project delivery with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and reliability.
  • Apply advanced technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, redundancy strategies, BMS/EPMS, and mission‑critical infrastructure.
  • Oversee BIM coordination, site logistics, crane operations, and constrained‑site execution.
  • Enforce LOTO and FOD protocols and uphold mission‑critical safety practices.

Planning, Scheduling & Risk Management

  • Lead pull planning, P6 scheduling, sequencing, phasing, and logistics strategy.
  • Identify risks early and develop recovery plans to protect schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with local/state regulations, AHJ requirements, and commissioning standards.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Partner with leadership to develop project strategies that secure work and drive financial performance.
  • Support budgeting, subcontractor selection, and project setup to align with mission‑critical goals.
  • Oversee financial controls, reporting, change management, and recovery of underperforming work.

Client, Industry & Team Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing Shawmut’s mission‑critical capabilities.
  • Promote collaborative relationships with designers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Mentor and develop field teams through coaching, performance management, and goal setting.
  • Represent Shawmut at mission‑critical industry events.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 15+ years of construction experience with a strong operational background.
  • 5+ years of mission‑critical/data center experience, including hyperscale or colocation programs.
  • Proven success delivering $100M–$500M fast‑track, MEP‑intensive projects.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Advanced understanding of electrical/mechanical systems, power infrastructure, BIM, redundancy strategies, and mission‑critical platforms.
  • Strong skills in sequencing, P6 scheduling, pull planning, and complex logistics.
  • Ability to lead large teams, solve problems quickly, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and executive‑level client engagement skills.

Salary Range Information

Boston Base Salary Range: $175,000- $320,000 The range stated is specific to Boston.  Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles) and internal company equity.

 

Candidates in other geographic markets will also be considered; compensation ranges for those locations may vary based on local market conditions and cost of labor.
