Shawmut’s Mission Critical group is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Safety Manager who’s ready to shape the safety culture of some of the most complex, high‑performance projects in the industry. This is a role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, loves being out in the field, and wants to make a measurable impact on people, processes, and project outcomes.
You’ll be the driving force behind safe, efficient, and compliant project execution across mission‑critical job sites. Your work will directly impact people, processes, and project outcomes.
Partner with project teams during preconstruction to identify risks early and build smart, proactive safety plans.
Conduct regular site walkthroughs to spot hazards, recommend corrective actions, and ensure safe work practices.
Lead engaging safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for employees and subcontractors.
Review and approve required permits, documentation, and safety checklists throughout the project lifecycle.
Investigate incidents and near‑misses, determine root causes, and communicate lessons learned across teams.
Maintain accurate safety records and ensure compliance with OSHA, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to reinforce expectations and drive accountability.
Support continuous improvement by contributing to the development and refinement of Shawmut’s safety programs.
Monitor weather and site conditions daily to anticipate and mitigate environmental risks.
Serve as a visible, approachable safety leader who builds trust and influences without authority.
Mission Critical projects demand precision, speed, and flawless execution. Your leadership ensures that safety isn’t just a requirement — it’s a competitive advantage. You’ll influence decision‑making, strengthen subcontractor performance, and help build a culture where safety is embedded in every conversation and every task.
You’ll help build and shape a new Mission Critical safety program from the ground up.
You’ll work on cutting‑edge facilities that power the digital world.
You’ll have the autonomy to lead, innovate, and drive meaningful change.
You’ll join a company that invests in its people and values safety as a core pillar of success.
At least 3 years of construction safety experience (data center experience is a plus).
Strong working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
The ability to read drawings, anticipate risks, and communicate clearly and confidently.
A collaborative, relationship‑driven approach — you know how to influence without authority.
Certifications such as First Aid/CPR, OSHA 500, or BCSP credentials
Comfort with technology (MS Office, Procore) and a willingness to learn new systems.
Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or restriction, now and in the future.
