Responsibilities

We are looking for an Assistant Estimator to support our Estimating team. Do you enjoy working on high profile projects in a team environment?  Is your accurate estimates and positive partnerships your work passion? Do you take pride in project execution?  

 

Our Assistant Estimators are responsible for multiple processes related to project estimating. In this role, you will assist on larger projects or be the estimator on smaller projects.

  • Initiates and schedules pre-construction kick-off meeting.
  • Identifies areas of risk and profitability to focus project team decision making.
  • Drawing/document review and develop bid list and invitation to bid process.
  • Work collaboratively with outside parties (I.e. the design team, etc.) to accomplish client goals.
  • Building and maintaining positive subcontractor relationships and developing critical relationships within Shawmut.

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, On-screen Takeoff, Timberline or other estimating software a plus.
  • Experience with out of the ground, renovation, retail and high end boutiques, hotels, restaurants, luxury homes, and high end corporate tenant interiors a plus.
  • Experience with projects of various size and scope.

Salary Range Information

Boston Base Salary Range: $72,000 – $100,000 The range stated is specific to New England Placement. The range listed depends on many factors, including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles), and internal company equity.
